Michael Burry is a fund manager who got lucky after making what was actually a pretty easy bet against the sub-prime mortgages back in 2006.

Incidentally, if you don't understand why his bet was an easy one to make, you have much to learn.

If Burry really knew what was going in 2006, he would have gone to the media and told them about his bets against the sub-primes instead of hiding his bet and waiting to see if it panned out.

Moreover, if Burry really understood what was going on he would have also:

1) Bet against government-back Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (like Stathis recommended).

2) Bet against the banks (like Stathis recommended).

3) Bet against the homebuilders (like Stathis recommended).

4) Shorted the stock market (like Stathis recommended)

5) Bought into the stock market during the lows in March 2009 (like Stathis recommended).

Burry did NONE of these things.

He simply made a low risk bet against what were essentially junk bonds.

So who's the real expert here?

Some guy who made a low-risk bet that he never told the public about (because he wasn't so confident in his bet) UNTIL it panned out (i.e. Burry)?

Or Mike Stathis. The man who detailed what would happen in two books in 2006 and 2007, which enabled ANYONE ON EARTH to make massive profits in numerous ways. And he released his analysis to the world BEFORE the collapse happened.

You’re never going to hear or read such a realistic critique on Burry from the media because the idea is to sell you on some guy who they claim is an investment genius, so you will line up for stories on him.

This brings in advertisement money.

It also creates dumb money which Wall Street easily takes.

In contrast, Mike Stathis wrote two books in late-2006 predicting what would turn out to be the 2008 Financial Crisis.

One of these books also predicted the Dow Jones would collapse to 6,500. And he reiterated that bottom in articles released into the public domain in 2008.

His books also predicted the residential real estate market would collapse by 35% (which it did by 2011).

He also advised investors to begin buying back into the stock market on March 10, 2009, which would end up being the bottom. This recommendation was also published in the public domain, enabling everyone to by at the bottom.

Most important, Stathis made these unprecedented predictions which were backed by extensive analysis available to the public well in advance of the 2008 Financial Crisis.

Despite Burry being wrong year after year. the media continues to pump him as if he knows what's going on.
